Welcome to my Writing and Technical Communications 200 blog!

I’m writing and designing this blog for a course I am taking about rhetoric. This blog is about the rhetoric often found in popular college phone applications. For each post, I will explore a different phone app by looking at the rhetoric associated with it and how that rhetoric affects college students and other users of the app. The different applications I will be looking at include Snapchat, popular gaming applications (TwoDots and Candy Crush), Facebook, Instagram, and Yik Yak. I’m hoping to have a wide variety of sources for the blog posts including interviews, scholarly articles and books, contemporary news articles, and other blogs.

This blog is not just about exploring rhetoric associated with popular apps, it’s also a web design project. One of my goals for this project is to master basic HTML. This means that all of the simple layouts on this blog were designed by me using HTML and CSS.
